Dr Joshua Barnfather
Dock Robotics Ltd.

Dr Barnfather is the Founder and Director of Dock Robotics Ltd. who are developing robots to automate inspection across engineering industries.

His career has involved developing radioactive contamination mapping robots for nuclear decommissioning and waste management in the UK and for surveying damaged reactors at the Fukushima-Daichi nuclear disaster site working in Japan. He has also contributed towards advancing nuclear pressure vessel manufacturing practices by leading R&D on robotic machining and applied related data science techniques in domestic energy applications.

Over the last 2 years, Dr Barnfather has been dedicated to leading Dock Robotics Ltd. through the development of a robotic system to autonomously build digital twin datasets of industrial environments to generate insights for cost reduction and performance optimisation.
